What is the proper thing to do with tomato plants that like to grow sideways?

They should be fine. If you notice over the next couple weeks that they are beginning to look less healthy than they did then just let them down like they were. In the future try and stake them up before they get too big, just dont tie twine around them tightly or it will hinder their growth, therefore hindering their production. Good luck!
