A fire damaged a lighter which is a family heirloom. How do I repair it? Only damage to its finish...?

Fire damaged the finish to a lighter that is a family heirloom. I would like to repair it. It is a zippo circa 1953. I think it was chrome but now is blue/black with scratches. Please help!
