Laptop battery packs.Besides buy new one is their anyway of getting them to work like when they where new?

The laptop is 5-6 years old lately the batteries only last 5-10 minutes,they used to last a couple of hours.A number of so called experts say they can be made like new again but not one of them knows how.So again dose anybody know if this can be done and HOW.....Thanking you
