Why would his mother need to know my ring size?

I'm surprised that this guy hasn't dumped you. You sound like a nut. Why would you freak out about his mother wanting to know your ring size? Maybe she want's to give you a ring, did you consider that? Also, why would you want a guy who's obviously not ready to be married, to ask you to marry him? WTF?
