3 strand crystal necklace into 2 single strands. Any design ideas please?

I like to repair/recycle jewellery. A friend has given me a broken 3 strand crystal necklace (really 2 3/4 strand as some beads missing), a family heirloom, and asked if I could make 2 single strand necklaces from it for her daughters. Other than simple stringing in the current format (graduated sized AB coated bi-cones separated by glass space beads) can anyone suggest something not too complicated but maybe a bit 'different' to do with them?
